Full-electric controls. Head, foot, and bed height are motorized, so caregivers can adjust positioning with a hand pendant instead of a manual crank.
High-low height adjustment. Lower the bed for safer transfers and patient lift use, then raise it to a comfortable working height for bathing, dressing, and repositioning.
Therapeutic positioning. Head elevation and reverse Trendelenburg (Emerald Infinity 54000 with upgraded hand pendant, IC333 and Supernal 5 by Transfer Master) help support easier breathing, BiPAP use, and upright positioning during meals.

Why Consider Reverse Trendelenburg for ALS?

Reverse Trendelenburg tilts the entire bed so the head sits higher than the feet, without bending the body at the hips. For ALS patients, this can make a real difference:

Easier breathing. Raising only the head section folds the body at the waist, which can press the abdomen against the diaphragm. Since ALS weakens the breathing muscles, a straight-body tilt helps avoid that added pressure.
Less sliding down the bed. With the head raised, patients tend to slide toward the foot of the bed. ALS patients often can’t reposition themselves, so caregivers end up pulling them back up throughout the day. Tilting the whole bed helps reduce that sliding.
Reduced risk of skin damage. Sliding creates friction and shear against the sheets, a common cause of pressure injuries on the tailbone and heels.
